This page contains three sections-
Below is a brief description of what I can provide when you book me.
This is followed by a list of my equipment and lastly you can go to the some past gigs section.
As well as being a singer who performs as Neil Diamond in the pubs and clubs of Scotland, I also host karaoke and can supply and host a disco. I enjoy entertaining and am happy to discuss tailoring my act to suit my customers. Please get in touch for prices and further information on what I can do to make your event a success.
I started out doing karaoke and discos with a Carlsbro PA and speakers, then a
wee Leem power mixer and some Peavey Hysis Speakers.
After the Leem gave up the ghost, I pushed the boat out and bought a Dynacord
power mixer at Sound Control in Dunfermline (now under new management).
Now my system is a Behringer mixer
and 2 Mackie 450 power speakers. Not cheap I can tell you, but the sound is
fantastic.
My lighting system consist of a Footster light controller and 4x300 watt Par
Cans. I also have extra lights to use during discos, before or after the show,
if needed.
The last bit of my equipment is my outfit. To help with the finishing touches I've had a couple of shirts hand made and am always adding to my stage outfits. Performance is all about feeling good and giving a good impression, after all.
23rd OCTOBER 2010 - CARDONALD BOWLING CLUB GLASGOW
This is a great bowling club in Cardonald with two lovely big greens and large club house. It was the Presentation night for the bowlers so the club was full. I did my first set as Neil Diamond, and was on for a longer cabaret set after that. There are a lot of great people in here with a hard working committee. Thanks to Chuck for booking me and to Pat for introducing me on the night. As for the crowd they were great - up dancing nice and early and just carried on all night. All in all it was just a really fun night and it was a pleasure to perform in this club. I couldn't have been made more welcome. Thanks to every one at the club special thanks to Douglas for helping me in and out with my gear. Been asked back next year and looking forward to it.22nd OCTOBER 2010 - KINKELL BRAES HOLIDAY PARK, ST.ANDREWS
Not too much to say about this gig. Very quiet at the start but it did pick up. It's getting a bit late in the season now.
16th OCTOBER 2010 -BRECHIN GOLF CLUB
It was my first time in this club. The show had been sold out for weeks so another full house. It's a great Golf Club with a lovely big lounge, and big set up area. Thanks to Stewart, who made me more than welcome. Great crowd young and old. Everyone had a great time with some great comments at the end of the night. Looking forward to going back next year. Thanks to the club, bar staff, and Stewart.
9th OCTOBER 2010 - EXCHANGE BAR EAST KILBRIDE
Back to the Exchange just after 4 weeks. This time on my own no Michael Buble so decided to do three sets - 2x Diamond and 1x Cabaret. This is a great bar to perform in - it's nice and big with a good stage area. The bar is right next door to night club so I had a lot of young ones in for the last hour. I gave them some Killers, Snow Patrol, and Zutons to get them in the mood for the night ahead. This was booked from Jack, an AIM agent. Another great venue. Thanks to Susan the Manager.
2nd OCTOBER 2010 - CRAIGIE BAR BALLINGRY
Podge been trying to get me along for a few months, and finally got it sorted. Not too big a lounge but a good crowd and a super night - I gave them 2x Diamond sets and another one of cabaret.
25th SEPTEMBER 2010 - KILMACOLM GOLF CLUB
Had this booking for quite a few months now - booked through Val Lawrence. Another lovely golf club. The night had been sold out well in advance so a full house was guaranteed. Great crowd singing and dancing. Lots of lovely comments at the end of the night. Thanks to Val and KGC for having the show hope to be back next year.
4th September 2010 - Exchange Bar, East Kilbride.
A last minute call from from Jack at AIM to go over and support a Michael Buble Tribute - Kevin Rodger . I was only on for one hour to get the night up and going and I think I did a good job as there was a real buzz in the place by the time Kevin had arrived. This guy has the look all the actions and that fantastic Buble voice. I was very happy at the end of the night when many of the crowd came up and thanked me for my part in the show and asking me when I will be back. must say thanks to Susan the Manageress - a great girl.
28th August 2010 - The 30 Social Club, Harthill
My first show for this new agent - Meadowvale Entertainments.
I thought I was doing the whole night singing and disco but a nice surprise when I went to set up and disco was already there. The party was for Charlie and Viv - it was their 25th Anniversary. I did first set with my Neil Diamond tribute, and my second general cabaret. The wee club was jam full with this lovely couple’s family and friends. I received a lovely message from Charlie the next day thanking me for making their night.
27th August 2010 - Shell Bay Caravan Park Elie
This was my fourth year along at Shell Bay. I was glad to hear they have stopped the bingo flyer between sets so everybody in after first set is still there at the end! A good crowd and a good night.
14th August 2010 - Beach Ballroom Aberdeen
I had been looking forward to this show for weeks. The venue is massive – it’s just had a refit and looks fantastic - the stage is huge. There’s so much to say about this gig. I was on with Ian Anthony a Tom Jones tribute act. Ian was a great guy and a super tribute act. We had 350 in for the show.
I started the show with a 45minute set then Ian, with me and Ian again to finish the night. We had a guy looking after our sound and lights for the night - the whole night was just a pleasure. It was great to see a lot of friends I made from my time on the ship who stay in Aberdeen. Fingers crossed I will be back next year to this beautiful venue check it out HERE.
31st July 2010 - Seaton Estate Holiday Park
This was my second time at Seaton Estate and it was a full house, with a lively crowd up dancing from the start. We made the weekend of it when our friends Elaine and Eddie brought their caravan up and we stayed the night. After the show it was nice to go back to caravan for a few drinks (maybe more) - a great night all in.
25th July 2010 - Private party in Dumfries
This was a private party for the lovely Audrey. I performed at Kala and Stewart's wedding a few years ago. Audrey is Stewart's stepmum and she loved my Neil Diamond tribute so this was booked for a surprise for Audrey on her birthday - and yes, it was a big surprise. We were lucky to have a lovely day as it was in the garden. Diane came with me and we were really looked after, had a great day with all the family and friends.
10th July 2010 - Blairgowrie Golf Club.
A lovely golf club in Blairgowrie. Thanks to Douglas Cleeton for the booking - a real nice guy. There was a full house on the night, nice and lively with plenty of dancing and singing along.
2nd JULY 2010 - AUSTIN HOUSE SOCIAL CLUB EDINBURGH
I was just back from Portugal from two weeks holiday so straight back to
business. I got this booking from Ally who has taken over the social side of the
club. The club has not had any entertainment for the last two years but I think
he was happy with his first show. For other performers, there are two flights of
stairs at back of club for the equipment to go up but I couldn't have asked for
more with the guys waiting to help and at the end of the night - thanks guys.
As for the show I had a great night I did three sets - 2 x Neil Diamond and one more with covers of other artists not much time left for the disco but there was plenty of singing and dancing. I'm looking forward to going back on the 4th of December and doing one or two duets with Mandy -a nice girl, full of life. Nice to also see Jim Wallace (bar steward) - I've not seen Jim for 25 years. Thanks Hugh for the comment see you soon.
12TH JUNE 2010 -
KIRKKINTILLOCH GOLF CLUB
Once again it was my first time at this golf club and once again another great
night. I must say I love doing the golf clubs - they're always well
supported and I had a full club again. The new social convener Hugh Preston is a
great guy. I think Hugh was more nervous than me as this was his first show
booking but at the end of the night he was delighted. It's always a really great
feeling for me at the end of the night when the members are congratulating the
Social Convener on his choice of entertainer. Thanks Hugh - keep up the
good work I'm sure you will do well.
28TH MAY 2010 - NEWBATTLE GOLF CLUB
Another first for me here at Newbattle. What a great club with lovely big
function lounge. It was nice and easy to get the equipment in and there was a
great big area to set up. A great crowd here - 148! It's a big long lounge - I
will have to take another couple of speakers with me for the show next year.
A lot of great comments at end of the night. Well done to Craig stables (new social convener) doing a great job Craig keep it up! See you all next year.
22ND MAY 2010 - CRAIGIEHILL GOLF CLUB
It was my first time at this golf club. I seem to be picking up a lot of bookings from golf clubs just now. The show was booked out weeks in advance so it was a full house. they were a really great crowd who sat nice and quietly and listened to all the songs with great applause after each song. I was to do two sets and disco for the last hour but my CD machine took one of its turns and stop working so I just had to carry on singing second set with variety of other songs. It turned out to be a great night. Thanks to Martin and the club for the booking. I hope to be back later this year. Thanks Martin for the super comment on the show and I must say hi to Gayle and the girls who danced the night away .
21st MAY 2010 - DALZIEL PARK HOTEL
I got this booking with a new agent. It was for a wedding reception. This was a surprise for the Bride and Groom, Gillian and Fraser who are big Neil Diamond fans. They got married in the beautiful island of Cyprus two weeks before. Chris the DJ was on from eight and I went on at ten for one hour. It was a great surprise to them and the rest of the guests. Thanks to Lesley for the booking and for her lovely comment on the show.
15TH MAY 2010 - KILBARCHAN BOWLING CLUB, JOHNSTONE
I did this show with my good friend Joanie and what a treat it was for me to finally get to hear her. She has this fantastic voice you could listen to all night with a great variety of songs. I just loved her Shirley Bassey songs at the end of the night. I really hope we can do another night again.
29th APRIL - 6TH MAY 2010 - ROSYTH FERRY
One more week on the Ferry. Up to now this is my last trip until there is a new contract sorted. What a great trip! But it may have been my last one.
I had a band on the ship http://www.gecko3.com/ who were on a mini tour, doing 3 gigs in Amsterdam and Belgium. They really made my night. Marty, Paul, and Hugh, who play in the band were great fun but the whole party was great with the girls singing and dancing. Paul came up and sang Bob Marley then the three guys did the Bee Gees real pros. They asked if I would like to come along to the gig in Bruges on the Sunday. As Diane came with me over the weekend it was perfect so we stayed in a hotel Sunday night in Bruges. The gig was great - Jazzy Funky music. The band came back on the ship on the Monday. Not a great sailing as some of the party found it hard to handle the sway of the ship but Marty, Paul, and Kate stayed up and another fun night singing and dancing. Marty also has another group called The Sorries - I really hope to catch up with these guys some time.
24th APRIL 2010 - CAMELON BOWLING CLUB FALKIRK.
First time in Camelon Bowling Club. The night was sold out so we had a great crowd. Thanks to Jim Rowan for the booking. It's a great club with a separate hall for functions. Everybody seemed to be having a great time with the Diamond tribute. I did my two sets and a wee disco. Couldn't get away so it was one of those nights when I'm quite happy to add other set with songs from other artists for a great bunch of people. I'm looking forward to going back in November for another great night. Check Jim's comment on my comments page.
15th to 22nd APRIL 2010 - ROSYTH FERRY
Back on for a week and what a busy week it was with the airports being closed. Every seat taken - even the seats in the cinema were booked with people trying to get home. It makes life easy when it is busy like this. I met a great crowd from Aberdeen - boy did they know how to enjoy themselves!
Looking forward to seeing them all again at the Beach Ballroom Aberdeen on the 14th August.
10th APRIL 2010 - PRESTONGRANGE BOWLING CLUB
I was given this booking from Pauline in the club. A really good night with lots of good feed back from the crowd at the end. Diane came with me and we got to meet up with Elaine, a girl we met on the ship. I hope to be back later this year sometime.
1st to 8th APRIL 2010 - ROSYTH FERRY
Each trip on the Ferry is for a week at a time now. I think cabin fever could be kicking in if I was on for longer. Had a good time met a lot of nice people. Went down to Ostend on the Sunday as the Ferry stays in Zeebrugge overnight - it's a nice town.
27th MARCH 2010 - BRITISH LEGION FORFAR
This was my second time in the club. It was a funny night as not too many turned up for the show but the few that we had made the best of it so all in all had a good night. Thanks to Margaret for the booking once again. I think we will try again later in the year.
18th to 23rd MARCH 2010 - ROSYTH FERRY
Back on Ferry for five days this time. All going well - getting a little bit busier...4th to 11th MARCH 2010 - ROSYTH FERRY
One whole week on the trip this time. I came off on the Saturday and picked up Diane for a few days with me as it was our anniversary on the Tuesday. We had a nice surprise when the Captain asked the both of us to eat with him and some of his crew at the Captains table. We received a couple of lovely gifts from the ship and we had some photos taken - I will add one to the gallery page.
We met a lovely couple Elaine and Eddie going to keep in contact with them. It was great company for Diane while I was doing my bit with the singing. Also met a other nice couple Eileen & Bill just back from a Skiing trip. Thanks to them for dancing the away and the lovely comments at the end. They own a lovely B&B in Alyth http://www.oldstables.com
26th FEBRUARY 2010 - FRASERBURGH GOLF CLUB
I have been looking forward to going back to the golf club as we had a great night last time. There was a good crowd once again and it was nice to see Kerry again [Manager]. I'm not too sure if Kerry can remember too much about the night as she did have a few wines but she did enjoy her self - she's a hard working lassie. I did manage to get one of the girls up to do a wee duet with me. Neil Diamond and Barbra Streisand's "You Don't Bring Me Flowers".
It was all good fun. Thanks to Kerry and the club for asking me back. Maybe I'll be back at the end of the year to this great club.
18th to 23rd FEBRUARY 2010 - ROSYTH FERRY
Making a lot of trips on the Ferry now until my contract ends in May. Still quiet at the moment.
13th FEBRUARY 2010 - DUFFUS PARK BOWLING CLUB CUPAR
I got this booking last minute from Grace at Select Entertainments. Alan Brownlee was meant to do the show but I think he had been taken ill. So off to Cupar. This was a Valentines dance, and the club was almost full. For the first set I performed my tribute to Neil Diamond, and for the second set just a mixture of old and new songs from across the years.
I'm sure everybody had a great night as I had a lot of good comments at the end of the night. Looks like I may be back later this year.
10th FEBRUARY 2010 - EAST WEMYSS BOWLING CLUB
Back to the Bowling club for the old folks night. Been doing this now for the last four years. I always have a good night at the club, and give them a mixed bag of songs. I take the Karaoke with me as they do like to have a song.
4th till 9th FEBRUARY 2010 - ROSYTH FERRY
On the Ferry a little bit longer this trip - Thursday til Tuesday. I came off on the Saturday and picked up Diane so it was nice to have some company. The ship stays in Belgium on a Sunday so me and Diane had a day out.23rd JANUARY 2010 - RAPLOCH BOWLING CLUB LARKHALL
it was the first time for me in this area. I am finally introducing the guitar into the show after many hours of practice.
Raploch is a great wee club, full of really nice peoplewho made me welcome. The club was booked out for the night so there was a nice big crowd. My first set was all Neil Diamond, but the second set I decided to mix it up a wee bit with some rock, country, and swing, so something for everybody.A great night, and thanks to Eddie and Raploch for the booking. Hope to be back later this year.
21st & 22nd JANUARY 2010 - ROSYTH FERRY
After a busy time over Xmas and new year, it's back to work for this year and back on the Ferry. My contract runs until May so I have a lot of trips coming up.
The Ship is really quiet at the moment. Some times there are only 15 Passengers but the show must go on as they say. On this trip I only had six stay up for the show.
Amazing what you can do with six - I had them dancing and singing and had a fun night.
31ST DECEMBER THE GALLEY OF LORNE INN ARDFERN
A short drive from Oban to Ardfern for this Auld Years Night gig. This Hotel is run by Andrew and Sarah, a young couple with two nice kids. It's not a big village and the Hotel had to compete with the village hall but we had our fair share to make it a good night.
Their week had been stressful with broken down heating and frozen pipes so I was so glad for them that the night went really well. I had some really nice comments from the guests at the end.
Our journey home was very eventful. We relied on sat nav or "Chatty Cathy" as Diane calls her, punched in our postcode home and set off. OMG we travelled 24 miles along the side of Loch Awe on a single lane track covered in snow and ice. It took us an hour and a half! Next time we will definitely check the map. "Chatty Cathy" was very quiet along Loch Awe - I think she was stunned into silence !!! Home safe and sound.
30TH DECEMBER 2009 REGENT HOTEL OBAN.
I was glad to get this booking as I am in Adfern on Auld Years Night, 25 miles from Oban. First time for me singing in Oban. The hotel was sold out for 3 days so Diane and I stayed in a lovely B/B.
The Regent is a nice hotel and well run by Andy the manager and his staff.
I did one set of Neil Diamond and another set of mixed songs from other artists just to suit the guests, who were from all over Scotland and Wales. They were all up singing and dancing. One party commented it was the best entertainment they have enjoyed in the 7 years they have been going to the Regent - a lovely compliment.
Andy asked if I would go back Xmas eve and the 30th December 2010, which I am more than happy with, so I am now booked for both. Thanks to Andy for the booking - he's a nice guy, and I'm looking forward to going back at the end of the year.
19TH DECEMBER 2009 - OLD BANK BAR ABERDEEN
Just of the ship and up to Aberdeen for this gig. This was my first gig for XS PROMOTIONS.
It's a great wee pub. A really nice guy called Kenny owns the bar with his daughters. Not too sure how many this bar can hold but it soon filled up with a great crowd. I was asked to stay on after my second set so I did one more hour. I Just filled the night with some Rod Stewart, the Killers, the View and some of the old classics - Smokey, T Rex etc.
Great night Thanks to Kenny and Jill - it was a lovely family run pub.
17/18/TH DECEMBER 2009 - ROSYTH FERRY
5TH DECEMBER 2009- STATION HOTEL LESLIE
My second visit to the station. Once again it was absolutely jam packed. It was meant to be 2x45, but was just one of those nights again - my second set went on for one and half hours- who cares? It's 10 minutes from my house! Tam ask me to do auld years night but already book in the The Galley of Lorne Inn, Ardfern. I'm really looking forward to going back early next year.
3/4/10/11th DECEMBER 2009 - ROSYTH FERRY
28TH NOVEMBER 2009 - HALKSHILL BOWLING CLUB LARGS
Got this booking about five months ago. What a great club. As well as outdoor bowling this club also has a three rink indoor bowling hall. A really well run club, and a nice big stage for the show.
90 tickets sold so I had a good crowd. Lots of great comments from folks at the end of the night on how they enjoyed the show. Thanks to Dougie McCracken for the booking and for the pint of lager at the end of the night. I hope to be back next summer.
7TH NOVEMBER 2009 - BRITISH LEGION, FORFAR
Another first time for me at this club. Really nice people here and a big hall to perform in (it holds around 120), almost sold out for the night. Thanks to Dodd and his lovely wife, and Margaret and Doug for the booking and all the help. No shortage of hands at the end of the night helping with all my equipment. The night went great with everybody singing and dancing. Hoping to be back next summer.
24th OCTOBER 2009 - WINDSOR HOTEL NAIRN.
This was the first time for me promoting a gig in this way, using radio advertising and five thousand flyers. The ticket money was going to be my pay for the night. I was however already warned from my pal Bob Wyper to keep an eye on the owner.
The hall held 130 as that's how many seats were laid out. The owner told me he had sold 87 tickets so he would let a few residents in just to fill it up a bit for free - I smelt a rat right away.
The night itself turned out to be fantastic - they were a great crowd, and every seat was taken (130).
At the end of the show I went to the office for my money. I was only paid for 87, which begs the question - what happened to the other 43? As you can guess this man is, in my opinion, a con man - it's the first time in seven years I have come across this kind of person. I lost £400 on the night so I did the show for very little after the advertising costs. My advice to any acts thinking of going to this hotel is to get paid up front or walk away. I for one will never be back.
As for the crowd, i couldn't have been happier, and I must wish a happy anniversary to Janice and Andy and all the best to Liz, who is getting married next week, Hope to see you again some time but not in this hotel.
19TH SEPTEMBER 2009 - FRASERBURGH GOLF CLUB.
Long journey up to Fraserburgh but boy was it worth it. Club sold out for the show. Everybody was up for it right from the start - what a night! I started the second set at 10.15 and stopped at 11.50. It was one of those nights you just don't want to stop. Thanks to Kerry, the new Manager at the club who has really turned it round bringing in the acts. keep up the good work Kerry. I hope to be back early next year - can't wait.
18TH SEPTEMBER 2009 - BEVERIDGE PARK HOTEL.
This is a great big hall to perform in. Tickets all sold out week before the event so I Had a full hall.
Really a super night and a great time was had by all.
Thanks to Neil for looking after me - nice guy to deal with and no problem doing his M C. Hoping to go back some time next year.
12TH SEPTEMBER 2009 - BUTTERSTONE VILLAGE HALL DUNKELD
Just off the Ship and up to Dunkeld for Sheila's birthday party. Lovely little village hall. Sheila is a big Neil Diamond fan so she booked me for her party not telling any of the guests who was on. Steve, Sheila's husband, had his script at the ready and Harry, Steve's Brother, my stage hand for the night was there to open the stage curtains. What a great night - everybody singing and dancing all night - just great. Happy Birthday Sheila.
22ND & 25TH AUGUST, 5TH & 12TH SEPTEMBER 2009
Back on Ship for two trips.
15TH AUGUST 2009 - FERRY
Still going great. As I have a four berth cabin Diane my Wife and Connie my Daughter came with me.
The Ship stays in Belgium on a Sunday so we had a day out to Bruges - a lovely town.
8TH AUGUST 209 - DALGETY BAY.
This was a charity event. I was hoping to meet Sandi Thom the singer as she was meant to be singing there too. Then got the news. "SINGER-songwriter Sandi Thom will not be appearing at the after-race concert for Cancer Research UK"s first pushkart derby, to be held in Dalgety Bay this August".
But I did meet some great acts. Look out for this event next year - it's a great day out for the whole family.
23RD JULY 2009 - ROSYTH FERRY
Back on the Ferry for six days this trip. Show going great and the crew are fantastic especially shimmy Jimmy - a great guy who always comes in to the entertainment lounge during the show with his afro wig and flashing glasses. He had the crew up doing the Hokey Cokey - and even got the Captain up doing it on stage. Its now on you tube check it out for a laugh.

18TH MAY -20TH MAY & 23RD-27TH MAY 2009 - ROSYTH TO ZEEBRUGGE FERRY
After dosing myself with honey, Vocalzones and Covonia I travelled from Hull to Zeebrugge to meet the ferry for its maiden voyage to Rosyth. It was definitely the newest and largest venue I have sang at. I was a bit nervous about my voice but it held out well.
Everyone seemed to have a great time, and we even had the Captain and his crew dancing to The Hokey Cokey. The crew made me feel really welcome and thanks to my new friends Lewis, Tracy, Claire, Sinead, Jimmy, Thomas, Chris, Joe, Trevor and Mon.
If you get a chance to go on the ferry you will be well looked after by the crew.
I'm back on ship in JULY FOR 3 DAYS 11TH-14TH.
16TH MAY 2009 - NEW GILSTON VILLAGE HALL
I had been unwell all week with sore throat, didn't want to cancel and disappoint anyone. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
9TH MAY 2009 - STOBSWELL CLUB DUNDEE
Another fantastic night at the Stobswell club. Everyone was up dancing from the beginning and the atmosphere was electric. Tommy has commented on my site on the 14th May if you want to read more.
8TH MAY 2009 - BREAFOOT TAVERN KINGLASSIE.
Back again at my best man's pub, and I had another great time. They are always a great crowd who love to dance and enjoy themselves. Will be back on a Sunday this year - watch the site for future bookings.
APRIL 18th
Another first for me at this club. So much I would like to
say about this club but I had a super email from Dave Kelly who booked the show
so this is Dave's thoughts on the show.
"Hi Tom
Just thought I would send you a short note to say what a fabulous night was had by all last night. Its nice for me when members come up and congratulate me (!)
on the quality of the performer, this makes my job so much easier. As I said last night, a number of people asked for your details so I hope you get more work from last night. You're a top performer and a nice guy - a rare combination.
Good luck in the future and I'm sure we will see you again."
Thanks Dave for your kind words.
APRIL 17th
It was my first time at this golf club, and I was made really welcome. A great size lounge to perform in. Nice big crowd to perform to, and we all had a great night.
Thanks to Sandra and Chris for the nice comments on the site. Hope to go back later this year. Thanks again to Breahead for booking me see you soon.
12TH APRIL 2009 - AUCHRANNIE HOTEL, ISLE OF ARRAN
After Kilmarnock off to Ardrossan for the Ferry over to Arran. Just love this bit of my job - a beautiful weekend for a ferry trip with Diane. We checked into a lovely wee bed and breakfast called The Barn.
Then we were off to the venue - what a fantastic Hotel and Spa. Thanks to Sharon for the booking, and to Peter and Ian for looking after us. I had a good crowd in to begin with which was increased for the second half of the night as an Abba Tribute was in the Brodick Hall and finished at 10pm. Then we had a really lively crowd! Highlights on the night included the packed dance floor and one of the girls who was at the Abba night said my show was better - what a compliment!
Thanks again to Sharon and the Auchrannie for a great night.
11TH APRIL 2009 - KILMARNOCK BOWLING CLUB
Not a big club but the oldest in Scotland. I love doing these wee Bowling clubs as the crowd are so close to me and as a bowler myself I know how hard it is for them to keep going. Thanks to Jacqui and Craig for this booking. It wasn't a full house but we still had a good night - I even had a little duet with Craig. He's a nice guy and loves to sing so it was no problem for him even if he was doing Barbara Streisand! Thanks to the club and all the members.
4TH APRIL 2009 - ANGUS HOTEL, BLAIRGOWRIE
Got this booking through Hardstone Entertainments Aberdeen [Jaff]. I was recommended to Jaff from Bob Wyper - thanks Bob. Great hotel for Tributes, big crowd this night with around 180 and a meal before the gig. It turned out a super night and the hotel was happy with the comments they got in the morning as the folk checked out. I was asked so many times when I will be back. I'll leave that up to Jaff.
21st March 2009 - railway tavern, buckhaven
Another new venue for me - looks like I'm going to be getting about this year. Not a big venue as I played in the bar but I had a good night.
7th March 2009 - Station Hotel, Leslie
What a Night. This was a fund raising night for the kids gala in Leslie. I got there at 7.30, and the hall was almost already full so it was a mad rush to set up but what a great crowd! I even fixed up a couple of duets - one of the guys likes to sing "Forever in Blue Jeans" so up he came and off he went with the crowd going mad. Next I got one of the girls up for a Barbara Streisand duet with "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" - the crowd loved it. Again thanks to both of them and thanks to Dave Goldie for booking me for this gig. I'm trying to fix another night later this year.
28th February 2009 - The Inn on the loch, Lanark
It was my first time at this venue. I got this gig from my good friend Bob Wyper (Rod Stewart Tribute) Really nice venue. It was quiet when I first went in but when the meals finished upstairs I think they all came down as there was not a seat to be had at the start.
11th February 2009 - East Wemyss Bowling Club
Nice to be back in my home village. Old folks treat this night. I am always made welcome from a lot of my old friends.
Back again in June.
24th January 2009 - Gleddoch Hotel, Langbank
Beautiful Hotel on the banks of the Clyde. I can't praise the hospitality enough. Helen to blame for this, She was fantastic, and gave Diane and me a suite for our overnight stay. Thanks again Helen for looking after us.
Now as for the show we had a super night. It was just great at the end of the night when everyone was on the floor singing and dancing and asking for more. I am the first Tribute the Gleddoch has had so I hope they have many more. Looking forward to going back.
17th January 2009 - Postal Bowling Club, Edinburgh
Great club and smashing folk. The club was booked out weeks in advance so full house guaranteed. What a night! - one of those nights you just want to carry on and on.
Thanks to Peter Bob and Wee John behind the bar.
Great comments from the club. Wish them all the best in the coming bowling season. See you all at the end of the season.
JANUARY 1st 2009 - MAYVIEW HOTEL St.MONANS
One of the best venues I have performed in. There's a beautiful function hall with a great dance floor and a super stage. There must have been 120 in the hall on the night. This hotel is a little oasis in Fife for any performer to strut their stuff.
And as for Tam the owner and his lovely wife they could not do enough for me.
So looking forward to going back in the summer, great start to the year.
DECEMBER 24th 2008 - LADYBANK TAVERN
Nice pub in Ladybank. Lots of young guys and girls in the pub this night - I'm not sure if they new who Neil Diamond was so I had to diversify with some songs in my second set. As it was xmas eve party night I decided to have some fun on the night with some dressing up with them - we had an Elvis, Shirley Bassey and Dolly Parton. It ended up a good fun night.
Bottle of vodka for the winner - well done DollyI
DECEMBER 20th 2008 - HILLFOOTS RUGBY CLUB
Thanks to Steve & Stuart for booking me for this show. Club was fully booked for the show so we all had a great night. All the best to the rugby team - get stuck in lads!
DECEMBER 6th 2008 - MONESS HOUSE HOTEL.
Picked this booking up after doing my show in the Fountain bar Aberfeldy. Julie Kilpatrick runs the Moness in Aberfeldy.
Set in 35 acres of picturesque countryside, in the heart of Highland Perthshire, the resort consists of a delightful hotel which has recently undergone a full refurbishment. Julie gave Diane and I a room in the hotel for the night and our meals - 5 star luxury - fantastic!
Lovely hall for the show with a good size stage, looking forward to going back.
thanks Julie.
November 29th 2008
- Columba Hotel, Inverness
A long way to go for this gig but it was worth it. A lovely hotel in the heart
of the city, right on the river Ness. Thanks to Neil for booking me for this
gig... I was in McNab's Bistro for the show which was fully booked, this helped
make it a super night. I hope to be back next year for a few gigs.
November 22nd 2008 - Ian's 40th Birthday
This gig was held in Ian's own home in Kirkintilloch, in front of 50 to 60 of
his family and friends. The night started with a bucking bronco in a Marquee in
the back garden, what a great idea for you birthday. I started at 11pm finished
at 3am and it was a great night. Thanks to Ian and his wife Mary and all the
guests for an excellent time.
November 15th 2008 - Sinatras Dundee.
This was for Lorraine's dads retirement, He is a big big fan of Neil Diamond so
this was going to be a special night for him. He didn't have a clue the Tribute
was on so it was a great surprise for him. He loves Neil's HOT AUGUST NIGHT
album so I made sure I did a couple of his favourites from the album. Thanks
Lorraine and good luck to your dad in his retirement.
24th October 2008 - Stobwell Club Dundee
This was my 3rd time here in the Stobwell. Well, what can I say about the Stobby...
a great wee club here in Dundee, it is well run by Tommy, his wife and their
staff. It's been two years now since Tommy took over and on this night there was
not a seat left in the house. I will be back next year for a few shows and am
looking forward to it. Thanks Tommy.
1st October 2008 - The Whip Inn Dundee
My first time in this Venue. It's not too big a pub but the place was full. I
don't know what it is about Dundee, they just seem to love Neil Diamond. I had a
great night here and even got to sing one of Neil's new songs Pretty Amazing
Grace. Thanks to Clare who owns the pub and the customers who were great. I
would recommend this pub to any act as I was made more than welcome and am
looking forward to going back next year.
16th August 2008 - Glenrothes Golf Club
Always a good turn out at the Golf Club. Really nice people at this venue and I
always look forward to my visits and hope for many more nights here.
27th July 2008 - The Fountain Bar, Aberfeldy
Just back from three weeks in Cyprus, But what a great way to get back to
business with the show. The pub was mobbed and although it's not too big a
venue, some folk made great use of the pool table for a dance floor. I had to
ask myself how many can you get on the table and my highest count was 6. After
the show I had a chat with Julie from the Moness Country Club and I'm now booked
for a show on the 6th of December at this lovely venue.
5th July 2008 -
Whitecraigs rugby club, Newton Mearns
Picked this booking up from my now good friend Bob Wyper, he is also in the
buisness doing a Rod Stewart tribute. I was leaving for Cyprus the next day for
three weeks so I was on a high before I even got started. It was a super night
and I am looking forward to going back next summer.

Largoward Town Hall
Another great night here in Largo. Thanks to Colin for booking me again for this
fund raising night for the hall.
May 4th 2008 - RED LION HOLIDAY PARK ARBROATH
It was my first time at this park. It's a super hall for any act. There weren't many in to begin with but it wasn't long before it began to fill up. They were a great crowd, up for the Neil Diamond Tribute and I managed to sell some discs at the end of the night. Thanks to the management and staff who where really nice. I hope to go back later in the summer - oh and NO BINGO!
May 2nd 2008 - SHELL BAY CARAVAN PARK
Back at Shell Bay this year again. A really nice venue, although selling bingo tickets at the end of the first set was a little bit of a pain, (that's holiday parks for you) but it is well run. I met a really nice girl called Marion and her fiance Ian. Marion sings in a band `One Plus One`
You can find their site HERE
I hope to catch up with them sometime, and who knows, maybe do a show together.
March 27th 2008 - SMOOTH RADIO
It was the DAVE MARSHALL show on smooth radio 105.2.

October 27th 2007 - LODGE ST, KENNETH KENNOWAY.
Great stage for any band or solo. Nice easy access to the stage, I’ve gigged here before so it was great to be asked back. I must say “well done” to bill for all his hard work over the last two years. At the end he did ask if I would like to join and I think he did have a few drams in him. I’ll admit I did like the green sash they wore, don't know if it would go down to well at Parkhead though .he he

While on holiday in Cyprus I got in contact with Kelly from Cyprus Entertainments (lovely lady). I'd advise anyone going to Cyprus to do work in the entertainment field to contact her via http://www.cyprusentertainments.com/
I performed at The Fireman's Fez in North Cyprus. It was unbelievable performing outside in 80 degrees. Thanks Kelly.

Stobswell Club Dundee - May 18th 2007
My second time at this venue, the first wasn't very busy but this visit was sold
out. I sang as Neil Diamond and also supplied the disco. It's a great little
social club in Dundee and Tom and his wife made everyone feel welcome. They also
put lots of effort into the club to make sure it is busy and has a great
atmosphere. I'm looking forward to the next time I'm asked to do my show for
these people.
AUCHEN CASTLE MOFFAT - March 24th 2007
I sang at this wonderful castle on a lovely sunny afternoon for a beautiful
couple on their wedding day. They made me very welcome and I sang for them and
their guests in the afternoon before their meal. What a fantastic venue for a
wedding. Kala, the bride, emailed me a week or two after the wedding to thank me
for helping make her day special. This has been one of my favourite gigs, very
memorable.
2nd March 2007 - LAUDER COLLEGE AND BUSINESS CONFERENCE CENTRE
This is the second year at this fantastic venue. Last year there were 160 in the audience, this year sold out within the first week of advertising and the audience had increased to 260. This made me a little nervous and I felt under pressure at £18 a ticket (meal included). We all had a great night and I'm looking forward to next year. Thanks to Refat and all the staff for doing a great job, Some of the staff even managed to get the night off to enjoy the show.
March 2007 - LODGE ZETLAND GRANGEMOUTH
Whooo! what a night. This was a charity night organised by a lovely lady, who
did a great job, despite her just coming out of hospital. This was a lovely
venue with a large function suite and lounge bar. Again I was made very welcome,
especially by the girls from Asda who even threw a couple of pairs of knickers
at me! I gave them back, so if you bought Knickers in Asda in March I hope the
wrapping wasn't disturbed!!!!
KINGSMANOR HOTEL Edinburgh
I was hired by Moira for her 60th birthday. She's a Neil Diamond Fan who
contacted me via the On Stage Register. There was a band playing for the first
half of the evening, then I sang for an hour, followed by the band, who carried
on for the rest of the evening. Great venue, great night. Moira told me she and
her guests had a great night.
Yet another lovely venue and the band were great.
